For research

For deciding where to publish:

https://jane.biosemantics.org/

Basically, just insert the title/abstract of your research, and this website generates a list of possible journals that would publish your work based off keywords.

Overall for case reports, I recommend churning/burning. Submit to Cureus or a different pubmed indexed journal that does case reports. One way to find this is google the society of your specialty of choice followed by "case reports" and work on submitting there.

My preferred free citation manager:

https://www.zotero.org/

Some prefer EndNote, and it's definitely an option, but I'm not willing to pay for it. Zotero is free and has a widget you can add to Microsoft Word so that you aren't hand-jamming citations to publish. It can be soul crushing when your article gets rejected, and you have to change all the citation styles throughout the text. Zotero does this for you.
